INTRODUCTION
Salut, and welcome to Romanian Survival Phrases, brought to you by RomanianPod101.com
This course is designed to equip you with the language skills and knowledge to enable you to get the most out of your visit to Romania. You'll be surprised at how far a little Romanian will go.
Now before we jump in, remember to stop by RomanianPod101.com.
There, you’ll find the accompanying PDF lesson notes and additional info in the post. If you stop by, be sure to leave us a comment.
In this lesson we'll introduce parting expressions. We will start with the formal ones.
BODY
A parting expression that we can use any time of the day to strangers or friends is La revedere, which means “until we meet again”.
Let’s break it down:
(slow) La re-ve-de-re.
Once more:
La revedere.
The word la means “at”
(slow) La.
La.
After that we have revedere, which is literally translated as “seeing again.”
Another expression that you can use any time of the day to someone that you know you will definitely meet again is Pe curând. The English equivalent is “see you later.”
Let’s break it down:
(slow) Pe cu-rând.
Pe curând.
The word curând means “soon” and
pe means “on”. The literal translation is “on soon.”
Use it with people you will meet again.
Let’s hear it one more time:
Pe curând.
Other formal ways to bid farewell include O zi bună and O seară bună.
Let's break the first expression down:
(slow) O zi bu-nă.
Once more:
O zi bună.
The first word, o means “one”, but in this expression it is translated as “a.”
Zi means “day” and bună means “good”. The translation is “a good day”.
Let’s hear it again:
(slow) O zi bu-nă.
O zi bună.
In the second expression O seară bună, the word seară means “evening”. The translation in English is “a good evening.”
(slow) O sea-ră bu-nă.
O seară bună.
Let’s hear both expressions one more time:
O zi bună.
O seară bună.
Use them for the appropriate time of the day, with anyone and in any circumstance.
Now let’s continue with the informal ones. In Romanian, Pa pa is the equivalent of “bye bye” in English.
(slow) Pa pa!
Pa pa!
Also, you can say only Pa just like the English “bye.”
There are two more informal greetings that we mentioned in the previous lesson, servus and ciao. These are used as parting expressions as well.

Not 1 answer I got received yet. Is that the service on Romanianpod 101???

Before I was on Cantonese class 101, they answered 1 or 2 days after I wrote to them.
