Michael: Top 25 Romanian Questions You Need to Know - Lesson 16: "How are you?" in Romanian. In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Romanian learners, and then learn how to answer like a native speaker. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then, through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question "How are you?" In Romanian, this is...
Larisa: Ce faci?
Michael: The first word in the question is...
Larisa: ce

Larisa: (Slow) ce
Michael: Listen again and repeat.
Larisa: ce
{Pause}
Michael: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is-

Larisa: foarte bine
Michael: "very well"
Larisa: (slow) foarte bine (regular) foarte bine
Michael: Listen to the phrase again, this time with "very well."
Larisa: Sunt foarte bine.
Michael: It mostly stays the same, simply replace "fine" with "very well." Say, "I'm very well."
{pause}
Larisa: Sunt foarte bine.
Michael: To express a different feeling, replace "very well" with "so-so."
Larisa: așa și așa
Michael: "so-so"
Larisa: (slow) așa și așa (regular) așa și așa
Michael: Listen to the phrase again, this time with "so-so."
